School-based Curriculum

Key Stage 1

Guided reading provides an opportunity for P.2 and P.3 students to learn effective strategies develop fluency and become better independent readers through reading in small groups with a variety of texts. Apart from that, shared reading allows students to read aloud stories, participate in discussions and activities. It helps cultivate a love of reading in students and empower them to become lifelong readers.

Key Stage 2

In Key Stage 2, teachers endeavour to develop a school-based curriculum with the help of the Language Learning Support Programme, leading our senior students to acquire self-directed learning skills and strengthening their ‘read to learn’ skills. We improve our curriculum by including certain cross-curricular and life-wide learning activities so as to enrich their learning experiences. Exposing children to other cultures and multimodal text will foster their growth and help make them a global citizen.

No Child Left Behind- Catering for Learner Diversity

We cater for learner diversity in a variety of ways. For our senior students, we have streamed classes that match their ability level and allow them to grow at their own pace. Our teachers prepare tailor-made lessons to suit each student’s needs, interests and abilities. All of our phonics songs and materials have been recorded by our NET for auditory learners to practise at home with their parents or guardians.
